The vanilla - to my tastes anyway - should be reduced by about half, but the rest of it is great. The great smell was no lie. So good.

Pretty damn good. Made it as specified simmering for 30 mins total. It seems like it will make 3-5 chai tea lattes. I ended up with maybe about 2 cups of syrup (though it's not /terribly/ syrupy. maybe like halfway between the consistency of water and honey. idk if I should have reduced it longer or not). Mixing it in a ratio of 1 part syrup to 2 parts milk, it's not exactly the same flavor or strength as starbucks, but close, and definitely still super delicious in its own right. Gonna make a double batch next time and try tweaking it a little for more strength, but definitely a keeper. And it does make your entire kitchen smell like Christmas.
